When I used to be a teen, it took a lot to skin me away from watching MTV music videos. I loved music, and I could not get sufficient of the flashy videos and the bigger than life musicians that populated them. As time went on though , it became more obvious that though the M in MTV stood for music, it was not truly their main focus. After a bit, I saw far less music, and more game shows. I can not even watch the station today, though I am aware that I'm now out of their target age group. Today, MTV music isn't desire it used to be, if you can find it in any way.

Their schedule is chock-full of real life shows and specials, and finding really music videos is tough to do. Much worse, the MTV music of today appear to be nothing less than noise, though I suspect that just makes me old right? Almost all of it I would not even label as music, but I'm aware this is just my view. I know that people who are younger than me like it ; it is not for me. I haven't thought plenty about MTV music videos in a while, but I have begun to consider it again. My girl is getting older and although I don't like the concept of it, I know she'll grow beyond groups like the Shakes shortly enough, and she's going to be listening to music that's made for older children. What shocks me is that I can not find any MTV music videos that I might really need her watching. The content of the majority of the MTV music videos makes my skin crawl. Ladies have come a good distance during the past decades, yet you'd never know it by watching a few of these videos. Self esteem appears to have flown out the window, but to be fair, this has often been the case with many of the MTV music videos that have been and gone during the past. I guess it just appears to be worsening, and the corruptness appears to have got worse. I do not want her identifying with these girls. I'm aware that I cannot keep her from seeing it for good but I am hoping I am able to hold her off long enough to show her how a genuine girl should live.
